Six-legged dog abandoned outside B&M settles into new life

Pembrokeshire, UK – A six-legged dog who was abandoned outside a shop is settling into her new home.

Ariel, named after Disney’s Little Mermaid, was abandoned outside a B&M store in Pembrokeshire last September at just 11 weeks old. She was born with six legs, two vulvas, and only one kidney. Ariel was taken in by Greenacres Rescue in Haverfordwest.

Ollie Bird, who runs an adaptive surf school in West Wales, adopted her after his family lost their elderly dog. Initially hesitant after their loss, they decided their home felt empty without a dog and applied to Greenacres, eventually meeting Ariel. She has settled well into their family, enjoying activities like swimming, paddle boarding, and surfing, and is gentle with kids.

Over £15,000 was raised in donations for Ariel’s care after news of her abandonment spread, for which her new family is grateful.
