PORTLAND, OR – After a man stole Banjo, a 13-year-old Shih Tzu, during an attempted break-in captured on surveillance video in Portland’s Laurelhurst neighborhood, Banjo was returned to owner Matthew Davis a day later.
Davis was contacted by two men who received the dog from a woman nearby and declined the reward money he offered. The community rallied with fliers, online posts, TriMet searches, and donations at homeless camps to help find Banjo.
Davis said he has no plans to press charges against the man in the video; he just wanted his dog back home.
