Zoey retires: a champion conservation dog seeks a forever home

After years of dedicated service in conservation efforts worldwide, Zoey, the spirited canine from Working Dogs for Conservation (WD4C), is embarking on a new adventure: retirement.

This eight-year-old mixed breed, originally a street dog from Texas, has left an indelible mark on the world of wildlife preservation through her exceptional skills and unwavering enthusiasm.

Since joining WD4C in 2017 with sponsorship from The Cougar Fund, Zoey has been instrumental in surveys for cougars, bears, and disease monitoring, even working in Patagonia. Beyond her fieldwork, Zoey has charmed audiences at outreach events and excelled as a conservation ambassador.

Described as both driven and affectionate, Zoey is ready for her next chapter. WD4C seeks a loving home that can match Zoey’s energetic spirit and affectionate personality. Potential adopters should be prepared for playtime, relaxation, and outdoor adventures, with a special fondness for children and a love for toys.

Interested in giving Zoey a loving home? Contact WD4C at foster@wd4c.org to meet Zoey and her handlers. Let’s celebrate Zoey’s contributions to wildlife conservation and help her find the perfect forever home where she can continue to thrive and spread joy.
